And RC4wd landy wheels!
http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e109/sendapics/Wheels.jpg
The only thing i need now are some shocks, which i will look into when the chassis is built and i know how big they need to be.
Started building,couldn't wait until friday

Got it almost ready to test fit the body to work out height, then shock length.

And trimmed

Now much better with slightly altered wheelbase.

I have also cut out the side windows,i'm just debating wether to cut out the rear or fronts yet tho,as mentioned before this will be used not just looked at,so i'm not going all out for scale(and they can always be removed later if the mood takes me).
So hopefully this will be rolling under its own power this w/e.
Next up is to make a paint choice,as now it's getting slightly warmer my puny heater may be able to warm the shed enough to paint it.
The battery holder with straps

And the plate to hold the rec/esc,i mixed a bit too much putty, thats why there's loads on there

So if RC4wd get some thrashers in next week i'll get those, otherwise it's going to be a toss up between creepers/crushers/tomohawks,as i like all 3 tread patterns and they are pretty scale too.
As i am going for a camo paintscheme i will change the wheels to some scx ones,i just can't bring myself to paint the landy ones lol.
I have the first coat on the body now(flat black) and the new wheels fitted.I'm just waiting for the thrashers to turn up and i will build the wheels up properly.

I have now got the basic design done,i just need to do a 2nd coat of the olive drab, and i'm going to do the inside of the body flat black too.
It's still a little high atm,so next job is to get the body about 5-10mm lower.

Already rolled it a few times in the garden :D was hoping to have the rear rollbar done too before the meet, but that doesn't look like it now.

Now i finally bought the right brazing rods(bought ones for iron/steel before :o) i have started my first brazing job :D A roll bar for the landy,so far it's coming along great!,just need to add a few more strength bars after a cuppa.
Any/all input from experienced brazers is welcomed.

Here is the rollbar on the landy,it looks really narrow.:( I'm debating adding another bar each side but on the upright of the mainbar, not the top.Once they are attatched and strength bars added,it should make it look a lot wider.
Don't really want to throw this one away, materials cost too much!

I wanted to re do the paint so i could take some pics with the new metalwork fitted.Haven't checked paint stocks in a while(no painting in winter) and i don't have any flat black :(.
So i thought i'd go for a complete change of colour. After finishing it the first time i dropped it so after re doing it,i'm quite pleased with the results.I'm going to neaten up the arches by hand as they aren't right.Anyway here it is now.

I have bagged the rec for now, when i get a winch and a light kit sorted i will put it in a WP box instead.
The servo was fouling on the stock link mount too on any more than half travel,so i fabbed a new one up,not perfect but i'm happy with it.
