Minizilla crawler?

Has anyone tried to turn a 1/18 minizilla into a crawler. I'm slowly trying to figure it out. Any comments, tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ive never owned a 'zilla, nor have I even seen one in person. I would say its not the best platform to begin with. I would start with the power train and or motor. You would definstly want something stronger and more controllable than stock. You could get bigger/better tires and better suspension travel for more ground clearence and a better chance at making it over tough objects.

No matter what mods you do, youll always be stock with independant suspension. They will never hang with solid axle trucks with similar drive trains.

I understand (and can accept) that the minizilla isn't an optimal platform for a mini crawler. This is what I have available to me now and would like to build a crawler for cheap to decide if crawling is something that will interest me enough to warrant spending money on a "real" crawler. I have a way to lock the independent suspension, making it similar to a solid axle. I really need help with link placement and some way to extend dogbones or make sliding shafts work.
