Land Rover - S3 - Defender

Ok, so I haven't done much in the way of custom 1/24 etc... scale stuff for awhlie now! lol... but I am back with a new project...

I got hold of a Land Rover Series 3 1/24 model kit from ebay, yesterday...

and lastnight I remodeled the roof/ rear to look more like the LR defender pickup...

I am going to use the lower part of the rear door/ and some plastic off the kut out roof section to join the new rear with the truck bed... I also have some scale 1/24 diamond plate to do out the rear part of the truck bed, I am still not sure if I will make a frame with canvas cover for it yet...

also this will be a ssmt build as I got hold of some of these:

I was going to run 4link but I may try and do leaf springs if I can get hold of some small bike chain links to use between the leafs and chassis...

wheels/ tyres: I am hoping to run black micro-dt rims/ tyres on this rig...

thanks for the comments, as for colour I am not sure yet I did think about orange with a white roof just to be different... lol... but who knows!

I will have to see what paint they have at my local shop frist...

ok so while out shopping 2day I got some brass to make the links between the chassis and the leafs as the bike chains links, I looked at were way to big... lol...

also I got the paint for the truck...

Ocean Blue for the body and Warm Grey for the roof...

I am also going to be making the chassis frame rails out of some carbon fiber...

next update will be when I have the CF frame sorted and the leaf spings / links all mounted to the frame...
