I'm finally taking another shot at a SSMT custom built truck. This one is going to be a '95 Ford F-150 pickup truck - the suspension will be the links and shocks set and the transmission will be micro geared motors.

Here's a few mock-up pics of the truck and my progress so far: (btw, I started this one a couples days ago but i'm working slowly on it)

Ok, time for another small update on this one:

So far i'm about 70% completed on the suspension set-up - I still got to attach the links under the chassis and make sure it can flex properly without any binding of the links and axles.

Here's a couple pics of it so far:

http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r99/xmodification/New%20Projects%20pics/103_2154.jpg
http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r99/xmodification/New%20Projects%20pics/103_2155.jpg

http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r99/xmodification/New%20Projects%20pics/103_2157.jpg

I have decided to go with the racing green for the color scheme - the chassis will be flat black and i'll add all the other details as usual. After the suspension set-up is done i'll add in the micro-t electronics along with a micro-servo (either Cirrus CS701 or a Hitec HS-55), as for batteries I might end up using a 4 "AAA" battery holder w/on&off switch if I can't get a hold of a 7.4 lith mincro-t battery.

Thanks for watching, more to come soon!

Update on project: 5/14/08

The links are mounted and it works pretty well so far. The only thing I might change are the back springs - they're alittle too stiff imo but they'll do good for now until I find some better ones.

here's a few pics of it so far:

http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r99/xmodification/New%20Projects%20pics/103_2166.jpg

It's sitting high with alot of clearance for offroading indeed. I'll start to paint a few things then i'll get to the electronics - most if it has to be installed after the paint job since it's going up front under the hood. The other details will be added in the end and I also have to work on a tool box to hide the battery holder so I do have a lot to do yet.

More to come soon.

Update: 5/16/08

I got the electronics ready to be put in also:

Thanks dude. the axle are 1/43 Super Slick Monster truck axles - they're pretty hard to find now-a-days.

I did alittle more work on the body and a chassis - here's the progress pics:

Thanks guys! The one reason I picked this model was because of the scale looks of it - it's almost close to a real 1:1 but I need slightly bigger to make it better (can't lower it due to limited space left for electroinces and other stuff).

I did some more work on it last night and due to a minor electronic glitch I had to switch from a micro-t board to an ugraded xmods board (2x2 stacked fets). The switch was abit more challenging to pull off since I had all my plans drawn out with the micro-t board in mind, but by using the xmods board i found out that it's even better - I have now added head/tail lights plus i'm now able to add more details in the engine bay area.

Here's a few pics of it so far (NOTE: some stuff are not glued on yet - just a mock up for now) :

I added the tail gate and mirrors already, now I have to continue finishing off the bedliner and make the tool box to hide the liths in also.

More updates to come soon.

LOL -as soon as i finish the toolbox i'll try to get video of it in action. Here's a link to the motors:

http://www.robotcombat.com/marketplace_ant_motors.html

It's almost completed to say the least - I only have to make the toolbox, adda few little pieces under the hood and i'll probably redo the entire rear suspension (it works ok for now).

Here's the couplepics and a short vid of the truck as of today:

The truck is alittle too fast for my liking but it's got alot of torque to dish out -lol.

More updates to come soon.

Thanks buddy!

I finally got the toolbox complete and then I find out thatI have no micro plastic hinges left (bummer), so I just need to purchase a pack of those to fully complete it. If you notice the liths are no longer there - it's because it was just too much for it - the 4.8v pack reduced the speed alot and now it's running just the way I want it too run.

Here's a few pics of it @ 95% completed (still have minor little touch-ups and the hinge thing to do) :

Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more to come.

It's 1/24th scale diamond plate styrene - I got it off Ebay and I think they still sellit if you search for it on there.

Here's a short video remix on photobucket for now - my youtube can't seem to recognize my file format at the moment so i'll get another one in mud later up on Youtube.

A few other pics of it in slideshow:

Thanks bro! the battery pack is secured by velco inside the box - it prevents it from popping out or sliding around inside the toolbox :) .

No pics updated but i'm changing the rear suspension to shocks instead of springs - it was too bouncy - the shock will atleast add some absorbstion to the suspesnion and make it run alittle smoother (hopefully):D
