Ok, this is my latest custom xmod crawler truck: '84 GMC CrewCab 4x4 crawler. It was inspired by a 1/10 version made by Obijuan who's a member of another forum. It's pretty much my 1/28 version of his truck so here's a few pics of it for now:

Awesome, I love the paint job; good choice of colors.

Also, you should post your winch tutorial.

Oh, my mistake, I didn't even realize that it was a scale clone of another truck.

Makes it just that much better! :D

@ Ashrimp - No prob bro, it's a replica of a 1/10 version done by a r/c enthusist over in the 4x4 scale forums - his name is Obijuan and he's done some pretty awesome trucks before including this one.

@ Arch2b - the rims are from the GMC kit - I just drilled out the middle and glue the "D" hubs ( I cut them out from an old set of xmods car rims) to the back of the rims on - they where chrome but I painted them black to match the bigger version. The tires are Aoshima superswampers ( pretty hard to find now - i'm lucky i bought a few sets when they where available before).

That thing is loooong! Looks like it has a lot of clearance too. The paint looks perfect, I like it better than the one you based it off of.

LOL - Thanks dude! This is the Longest craw/er offroader that i've made so far and it's kinda cool but it was alot of work also. I had to add my own touches to this one since the 1/10 was kinda plain imo.:)

Are you using the stock steering setup? It looks like you got something custom going on in there. I have always been trying to get rid of the slop in the xmods steering, does it help take out some of the play?

i'm using a servo setup with a custom suspension also - it's the same setup that modjunky over at 4x4scale forum used. It does get rid of all that slop and it works pretty well - i have a short vid in the entire build thread over there that you can check out also.

Thanks for all the cool comments guys!

I finally finished this truck - I locked the diffs, covered the underneath, painted the inside of the wheel wells, and I added the rocksliders on it aswell.

Here's a few pics of it for now:

Yeah - If I could get a 1/24 size set of Boggers/mud slingers I think this baby will crawl straight up a wall -lol. I can't wait to see which tires you guys will bring out.

btw: I call dibs on a the first trial set - I would definately be able to give ya good feedback on them for sure.:D

Well I took it for a test run in some mud and it got stuck plus alot of dirt/mud got into through the exposed driveshaft :nodno:. I finally took care of it while I was doing some other minor mods:

http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r99/xmodification/New%20Projects%20pics/103_1666.jpg

It's a complete underbody skid plate to protect it from dirt/mud/sand and it will also help it on the rocky coarse (it can slide across stuff instead of getting hung up on bigger rocks).

Here's the last couple of pics of this baby and I think that's it for good :bigwink: :
